THE GEORGES BIASSOU MONUMENT
Statue to be erected in St. Augustine, Florida honoring Haitian-born Spanish General Jorge (George) Biassou, Commander at Fort Matanzas who spoke French and Haitian Creole and was a leader of the Slave Revolt. He died in 1801 and was buried at Tolomato Cemetery in St. Augustine, Florida. His home, now a chocolate store still stands.
THE TOUSSANIT LOUVERTURE EXHIBITION
Born (François Dominique Toussaint Bréda) in 1743 and died in Fort de Joux, France on April 7, 1803. Scholars and Collectors are encouraged to contact the Haitian Historical Museum to discuss possible involvement.
